Same-Day Annual Outboard Service in Southwest Florida: Get Back on the Water Today
In Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and the rest of Southwest Florida, the season never really ends. That also means your outboard never really gets a break. Salt, heat, humidity, and year-round use wear engines faster than a northern “winterize and forget” schedule ever would.
Twin Screws Marine Service built same-day annual outboard service around that reality: schedule an appointment, and most 20-hour, 100-hour, 300-hour, and annual services can be completed the same day — at our Fort Myers shop, on your trailer, at the marina, or at your lift. You don’t have to lose a weekend waiting in a yard queue.
Call 239-330-3387 to book. Shop: 16257 S Tamiami Trail, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.
Why “annual” is not optional here
Manufacturers such as Suzuki, Yamaha, Mercury, and Honda generally call for service every 100 hours or once a year, whichever comes first. In SWFL, the calendar almost always wins. Even a boat that only sees 40–60 hours a year still sits in salt air, drinks ethanol-blend fuel, and cycles through heat that breaks down oil, rubber, and anodes.
Skip the annual and the typical bill later is not “a filter.” It is a lower unit from water in the gear lube, a cooked powerhead from a tired impeller, or a no-start from stale fuel and clogged filters.
Annual service is the cheapest insurance you can buy against a Saturday morning that never leaves the dock.
What a proper annual / 100-hour outboard service includes
Exact items follow your engine’s manual and hour interval. A complete annual service at Twin Screws typically (depending on manufacturer) covers:
• Engine oil and filter change (OEM-spec fluids)
• Lower unit gear oil drain, inspection, and refill (we look for milky oil or metal — early warning of seal failure)
• Fuel filter and fuel/water separator replacement
• Spark plug inspection or replacement as specified
• Cooling system check: telltale, thermostat condition, salt buildup
• Water pump / impeller inspection (replacement when due or if wear is present)
• Anode inspection and replacement when consumed past ~50%
• Propeller removal, inspection, and greasing of the spline
• Belts, hoses, mounts, cables, trim/tilt, and steering check
• Battery and charging system test
• Corrosion inspection on fasteners, electrical connections, and the bracket
• Diagnostic scan on EFI engines when applicable
• Multi-point visual inspection so small problems don’t become haul-outs
We service all major outboard brands — Suzuki, Yamaha, Mercury, Honda, Tohatsu, and others — and we are a Suzuki Marine dealer for parts, warranty, and repower.
Why same-day service changes the whole week
Traditional shop service often means: trailer the boat, drop it, wait days, pick it up, hope nothing else was found after you already blocked the calendar.
Same-day annual service means:
1. You keep the weekend. Book the appointment, get the work done, launch the same afternoon or the next morning.
2. The boat can stay where it lives. Dockside, lift, driveway, marina, or our shop. No mandatory haul if the job doesn’t need one.
3. Problems get caught while a tech is already there. If gear lube is milky or an anode is gone, you hear it the same day — not after a two-week wait.
4. Warranty and resale stay clean. Documented, interval-correct service matters when you sell or file a claim.
Twin Screws already advertises same-day service when you set an appointment. Call first so parts and a technician are lined up for your make and model.
Shop, trailer, or we come to you
You choose the setup that fits the boat:
• Service center at 16257 S Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers
• On the trailer at the shop or your location
• Dockside / lift / marina with mobile marine service
• Pickup and drop-off when you need the boat moved
Coverage includes Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs, Naples, Marco Island, Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach, and surrounding Southwest Florida waters.
Saltwater habits that make the annual service actually last
Service once a year is the backbone. These habits keep the engine between visits:
• Freshwater-flush after every saltwater run
• Rinse the cowling, bracket, and electrical connections
• Trim down when stored so the lower unit can drain
• Treat fuel and don’t leave old gas sitting for months
• Replace anodes before they disappear — not after the aluminum starts pitting
If you only do one extra thing besides the annual, make it the flush.
When to book
Fall after heavy summer use is ideal for many SWFL owners. Spring before peak season is the other smart window. If you are already past 100 hours, or last year’s sticker is faded, book now — don’t wait for an overheat alarm on a holiday weekend.
Same-day slots fill around weekends, holidays, and the start of tarpon and snook seasons. An appointment is what makes “same day” possible.
